RugCheck Scanner ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our browser extension.

Single Purpose

RugCheck Scanner has a single purpose: to help users quickly evaluate Solana tokens for potential scam or rug-pull risk by displaying risk information from RugCheck.xyz directly in the browser.

Information We Collect

Token Addresses

When you scan a token address, the extension sends only the token address to the following third-party APIs to retrieve public token analysis data:

• RugCheck.xyz API - For token risk analysis and security information
• Fluxbeam.xyz API - For token price information

The token address is the only data transmitted to these services. Token addresses are public blockchain identifiers and do not contain personally identifiable information.

Local Storage

The extension stores the following information locally in your browser:

• Network Preference - Your selected blockchain network (Solana or Fogo) is stored locally using Chrome's sync storage to remember your preference across sessions.
• Cache Data - Token analysis results and risk scores are temporarily cached locally to improve performance and reduce API calls. This cache expires automatically.

Content Detection

The extension's content script scans web pages to detect Solana token addresses displayed as text. When addresses are detected on a page, they are automatically sent to the RugCheck.xyz API to retrieve risk scores, which are then displayed as badges next to the addresses. This automatic scanning allows users to quickly see risk information for tokens they encounter while browsing. Addresses are checked against local cache first to minimize API calls.

What We Do NOT Collect

We do NOT collect, store, or transmit:

• Personally identifiable information (name, email, address, etc.)
• Health information
• Financial or payment information
• Authentication information (passwords, credentials, PINs)
• Personal communications
• Location data
• Web browsing history (only token addresses found on pages are sent to APIs)
• User activity data (clicks, keystrokes, scroll position)

How We Use Information

Token addresses are used solely for the purpose of retrieving public token analysis data from RugCheck.xyz and Fluxbeam.xyz APIs. This occurs in two scenarios: (1) automatically when addresses are detected on web pages to display risk badges, and (2) when users explicitly choose to scan a token address through the extension popup. All data usage is directly related to the extension's single purpose of helping users evaluate token security risks.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do NOT sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Token addresses are only sent to:

• RugCheck.xyz - To retrieve public token risk analysis data
• Fluxbeam.xyz - To retrieve public token price data

These services receive only the token address you choose to scan. Please review their privacy policies for information about how they handle data.

We do NOT use or transfer user data for purposes that are unrelated to the extension's single purpose.

We do NOT use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

External Resources

The extension loads the following external resources to enhance functionality:

• Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) - Loads the VT323 font family for typography styling
• Font Awesome (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) - Loads icon fonts for UI elements

These resources are loaded via CDN links and are subject to their respective privacy policies.

Data Storage

All data storage occurs locally in your browser:

• Network preferences are stored using Chrome's sync storage (synchronized across your devices if you have Chrome sync enabled)
• Cache data is stored locally and automatically expires
• No data is transmitted to our servers or stored remotely

Your Rights

You have full control over the extension:

• You choose which token addresses to scan
• You can clear local storage data at any time through Chrome's extension settings
• You can uninstall the extension at any time, which removes all locally stored data

Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions:

• activeTab - To read token addresses from the current web page
• storage - To store your network preference locally
• Host permissions - To fetch token data from RugCheck.xyz and Fluxbeam.xyz APIs

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when changes were last made. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
